Is there some secret to life? Why don’t I experience all the blessings God talks about in the Bible?

David tells me that,

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11, NKJV)

And Jesus promised,

“I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” (John 10:10, HCSB)

You have to give up to go up! In Christ, it matters what you are focused on and where you are expending your energies! Life in this world will be better if it is lived by a power beyond this world, the power of the resurrected, ascended, glorified Christ.

The inner life of a Christian is often a strange mixture of motivations both genuinely spiritual and completely human. It takes a supernaturally discerning agent such as the Word of God to sort these out and to expose what is of the flesh. Confession is the practical application of our position in Christ. October 14: How Do I Get the Power of God in My Daily Life?

 Human performance is not the key to effective living but the Spirit. You must realize your inability to live on your own strength and ask God to fill you with His Spirit. Discover how you can volitionally open yourself to the Spirit’s leadership and control on a recurrent basis.
