El Segundo Fire Fighters Honored

El Segundo – Pacific Baptist Church honored members of Truck 32 Sunday, July 1 for their service to the community. Lead Pastor, Dr. Matthew Lee Smith, said, “the men and women of the El Segundo Fire Department, as well as all of our city’s first responders are the unsung heroes of our community. We wanted to show them our respect and admiration by honoring them personally.”
Chief Kevin Smith spoke on behalf of the ESFD noting his appreciation for the event. “I have been pleasantly surprised by the attitude and desire of the people of Pacific Baptist Church to serve and help the members of the El Segundo Fire Department,” Chief Smith said
Each member present was presented with a certificate that read in part, “We admire your courage, your generosity, your sacrifice and your faithfulness. You inspire us, encourage us and cause us to want to imitate your spirit. Thank you for serving our community!” Pastor Matthew Smith, and deacons Rod Goff, Don Hawley and Adrian Voicu honored Chief Kevin Smith, Chris Thomason, Nate McIlroy and Kevin Heronema.
